THE BUTTERFLY HOUSE
The villa is a testimonial to a wonderful doctor couple, who love nature and marathons and Harley Davidson! The design brief for this residence on just 235 sq yards plot was simple – ” We want a garden on each floor!”. This ode to form finished concrete and green is an interesting exercise in space planning and art integration. An interesting design challenge was to design a security grill with the neighbour who shared the wall, and this was prominently visible from the entrance road. This led to creating a landscape in steel and aluminium. A grassland in Aluminium created the safety grill, and the 7 feet large butterflies gave the identity of the house, and the neighbours fondly call this house ‘The Butterfly House’!
