This boutique specialised in traditional female garments, was to be designed in a very modern building in form finished concrete construction on the inside as well as inside. This offered an interesting opportunity to design an interiors which would be a fusion of traditional and the modern. However, we stuck to the modern and minimal language of the building in our design, and let the traditional part be reflected only through the garments and some antique elements in the space. The formfinished concrete walls, in-situ concrete floor, teak wood furniture and copper cladding and display rods, nearly completes the material palette, and presents a very neutral restrained canvass to bring out the vibrant colours of the Indian traditional clothing!
