The national design competition for an iconic administrative facility like Satara Municipal Council, was a wonderful opportunity for us to venture were maximum value could be given to architectural spaces in terms of scale and volume while achieving the specific needs of the program. This building was designed on a site right next to the Satara-Koregaon State-highway connecting to the city's main administrative axis, which had major admistration & educational buildings of the city in close vicinity. While designing the building, monumental in scale for it's unique purpose, we were also able to address, through our design, very critical aspects like maximum natural daylit spaces with better cross ventilation, practically zero maintenance cost, flexibility of spaces, visually connected spaces with humanised scale and high level of safety from fire.
