Andaman Resort
The national design competition for a Four Star Resort for ANIIDCO, was a wonderful opportunity for us to venture into hospitality architecture by designing all rooms facing sea while using technology for the functional need of protection from weather and climate. The resort was to be designed on a prime site right next to the Andaman Sea, which has to compete with series of the resort along the sea coast. While designing the building unique in it's purpose with all Sea-View rooms, we had also design it through very scientific processes, keeping values like space optimisation, maximum daylit spaces with better cross ventilation, visually connected spaces, minimum walking distances, and high level of safety from fire and earthquake. The design was highly appreciated and was judged to be in the top 3 amongst the top 5 shortlisted design entries of prequalified firms.
