As India gears up to tomorrow by developing transportation infrastructure of its cities, a few years back Surat Munnicipal Corpoation decided to develop a Bus Rapid Transport System for Surat. We got an opportunity to design the prototype bus shelters which was then replicated one of the first corridors to open. The design focusses on the climatic response to the hot and humid climate of Surat, as we went along meeting the functional demands of the project. This project was accomplished in collaboration with CEPT, Ahmedabad.
